4-H SUMMER CAMPS

Junior 4-H Camp (4th – 6th) June 6 – 10th

Each summer, 4-H members from Jackson County head to the Clyde M. York 4-H Center in Crossville, TN for a week of hands on learning and fun! While there, campers can enjoy an Olympic-size pool with a 125-foot water slide, fish and canoe at the lake, and create projects at the woodworking center and craft house. Other facilities include a covered basketball court, sports fields, a wildlife center, rifle and archery ranges, and more!

4-H Jr. High Camp (7th – 8th) May 30 – June 3

Each summer, 4-H members from Jackson County head to the Clyde M. Academic Conference (6th-8th) June 14-June17

This 4-H STEM event will be on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.  Participants receive intensive training in their 4-H project area under the supervision of university scientists and specialists and explore related career opportunities. The conference provides a variety of rewarding and fun-filled experiences in classroom, outdoor and laboratory settings.

Electric Camp (6th-7th) June 28 – July 1

4-H Electric Camp is a fun-filled, rewarding adventure in electricity. At these regional camps, you will learn what electricity is and how it works. You will work with electrical specialists from across the state in learning centers. Each learning center will consist of hands-on activities so that you can learn by doing. You will also have the chance to meet other 4-H’ers from across Tennessee and explore careers in energy, electricity, and basic sciences. It’s an electrifying experience!

Pioneer Camp (7th-10th) July 5 – July 8

Pioneer Camp is a rustic camping experience. Campers will stay in primitive cabins at Camp Woodlee and learn about fishing, shooting sports, rappelling, campfire cooking, and more!

Target Smart Camp (5th – 9th) July 11-15

4-H Target Smart is a fun-filled, hands-on experience. Any 4-H member, 5-9 grade, who is an active member of a county shooting sports program or who has had some shooting sports training is eligible to attend the camp. The purpose of this camp is to help 4-H members develop firearms safety, correct form, responsible use and life skills. 4-H members have an opportunity to make new friends, experience adventure and accept responsibility for group living in a camp setting.

Culinary Camp (6th – 8th) July 12-14

4-H Culinary Camp is a fun-filled, hands-on experience. At these regional camps, you will learn all about cooking! Learn how to make pasta and sauces, Italian desserts and taste the flavors of the Mediterranean!  

FCS Behind the Scenes (9th – 12th) July 12-15

Campers attending FCS Behind the Scenes for 2022 will travel to Savannah, Georgia to learn about interior design and architecture. This camp provides the opportunity to tour Savannah College of Arts and Design, spend a morning at the beach, learn about the architecture in Savannah, and go on a ghost tour.
