Jackson County 4-H Public Speaking Contest
Even as adults, we find that speaking in front of a group can cause our hearts to race, our palms to sweat, and our nerves go through the roof. For 4-H youth in Jackson County Middle School and Dodson Branch School, this is something they tackle early on. They learn the important writing skills necessary to craft a well-written speech. Then work on their delivery by practicing, revising, and finally delivering in their classroom contest. The hope is that this will be a skill that will benefit them well into their adulthood.
